Math 302: Differential Equations - Spring 2012

Announcements

  • An updated copy of the table of Laplace transforms has been posted to include the transforms for the Dirac delta function.
  • A copy of the table of Laplace Transforms being supplied with the final is available as Table of LT for Final.pdf.
  • A copy of the list of topics we generated during our class discussion today is in the Topics Discussion.pdf file linked below.
  • Solutions to 4/30 Homework are posted in the hall outside my office.
  • Test on Friday 4/20 covered sections 4.6, 6.1-2, 7.1-3.
  • A friend of mine has a great practice problem generator website for second order ODEs. Enjoy!
  • Test on Friday 3/23 covered sections 2.6, 4.1-5.
  • Two additional resources for numerical methods solvers for DEs. The first is a pretty (but somewhat limited) tool from the student companion website for the textbook. The second is a more powerful tool that requires Java.
  • Test on Friday 2/17 covered sections 1.1-3, 2.1-5.
  • Remember, Adobe Reader is required to get the animation and audio on the Pencast PDFs.
  • Solutions to the homework can often be found in the cabinet outside my office.
  • A great DE field plotter is available on Dartmouth's website. You need Java enabled to use it.
  • All communication about assignments, etc. will be distributed through this page. Welcome!
  • Check this site daily!

Homework Instructions

Homework is due by 9:15 AM on the date assigned. No late homework will be accepted except by prior arrangement. You may submit your homework in class or in my box in the Math and Statistics Department office.

Formatting Instructions

  • All homework must be submitted in a neat, legible and organized fashion. Your submitted homework should not be your first attempt. It should not be a first draft.
  • Your name, class section and due date should appear in the top right hand corner of the first page.
  • Your assignment must be stapled together (not paperclipped, not crimped). Staple all assignments due on the same date together.
  • If your paper came from a spiral bound notebook, you must remove all the pokey out bits (the edges of the page should be straight and clean).

Failure to follow these instructions will result in deductions from your grade.
